I must say that Mr. Piggy's first week at school has been a great one! He is already one spoiled guinea pig!
Joyria and Mr. Piggy have such as special bond! Joyria was the one that was so in love with Miss Piggy as well. As soon as she enters the classroom in the morning, Joyria goes over to say "Hello" to Mr. Piggy. When given indoor recess or free time, all Joyria wants to do is hold and pet Mr. Piggy! She is so kind and gentle with him. How sweet! We have taught the kids that, when Mr. Piggy is in his green igloo house, he wants to be alone. So, they are not to touch him while he is in there. It is definitely for his own sanity!! Ha! Ha! On this day, Joyria REALLY wanted to play with Mr. Piggy. She never did touch the cage, but she kept waving her hand and saying "Come on Piggy"! Awww....
Miss Piggy started this tradition. She was quite popular around the school and everyday at lunch we would leave with approximately 5 apples that students, from different classes, had saved for her. It looks like Mr. Piggy has definitely continued this tradition. Once everyone learned that we had gotten a new guinea pig, apples, carrots, celery, etc. started pouring in! Like I said, that's one spoiled guinea pig!
