Learning About Mountain Ranges!

Learning about the major mountain ranges of the United States was lots of fun. We researched the Appalachain and Rocky mountains. We created our own models of them and located them on a map. Then, we taught our classmates about them. There are lots of interesting facts about the mountain ranges that we didn't know.  Now we do!

100th Day of School!

We had lots of fun on the 100th day of school!

The first 100 days in our classroom has been wonderful. We have learned so much and developed close bonds with one another. We look forward to the remainder of the year!

Writing Letters to President Obama!

During our "Government" unit, we learned about our United States President, President Barak Obama. Then, we wrote letters to him!

Our final products turned out really good. Some students added pictures to complete the sentences and some students wrote the entire letter. Of course we added pictures of ourselves too!

We can't wait to see if we get a letter back from the White House!

Class President Election!

After learning about the United States government and our president, we were so excited to practice the voting process and elect our own "Class President". Each student was given the responsibility of creating their compaign to encourage their classmates to vote for them. They each did this at home as an ongoing homework assignment!

Ava's campaign was very clever. She gave out smarties and dum dum lollipops. Her campaign speech was "Don't be a sucker. Be a smartie. Vote for me"! No one said we couldn't bribe our friends with candy. Ha! Ha!

Once everyone gave their campaign speech, we all used a ballot system to vote for the person we thought would best respresent our class as our "Class President"!

Our "Class President" was elected. And the winner was............... Dontavious Morrow!! Dontavious was awarded a beautiful pin and several other goodies!

I can't think of anyone who would best represent our class as "Class President". It was nice to see that our students felt the same way. Congratulations Dontavious!

Ava received the second greatest amount of votes. Therefore, she was elected as "Vice President". Yay Ava!

That's a great bunch of candidates!
