Last week South Salem Elementary was devastated when one of our custodians, Bernard, collapsed while getting out of his car at school. Bernard is an awesome person and one of our special friends. He always stopped by our room with a big "HEY" or turned off our lights when we didn't even hear him open the door. He loved making us smile and the kids absolutely love him. Bernard suffered a massive stroke that day and has been in ICU at Emory since.
We soon put our creativity and writing skills to work and made cards for Bernard. Ms. Malcom will take them to him at the hospital!
Please keep Bernard in your thoughts and prayers. Get well soon Bernard. We love and miss you!
