Learning about George Washington Carver (Part 1)!

The Friday before last, we studied George Washington Carver and his contributions to American life! We learned that George Washington Carver was a great plant scientist. He used plants, such as peanuts, sweet potatoes, and soybeans to make several products.
Mr. John (Mrs. Stowe's husband) came by and brought all the materials needed to plant peanuts! We were not sure if they would grow but we decided to give it a shot!

First, everyone got two planters!

Silly girls!

Ms. Cassandra (Ms. Malcom's friend) also stopped by to help! Her and DeAsia became great friends!

Everyone got soil in their planters!

Then, everyone got a few peanuts to place in their soil!

When finished, we put all of our planters in a small "greenhouse" that Mr. John brought for us!

Tony was the "Class STARfish". So, he got to be Mr. John's special helper!

DeAsia talking to her new friend, Ms. Cassandra!

Tony and Mr. John watered all of our peanuts!

Thank you so much Mr. John for coming by and helping us plant peanuts! We had a blast!
I'll keep everyone updated with the status of our peanut plants! I am quite eager to see if they grow or not!
