Fun in Occupational Therapy!

We had so much fun in Occupational Therapy on Monday that I had to share these pictures with you! To work on fine motor skills, Ms. LaVerne had a very special activity for us to participate in. Ms. LaVerne brought some large tweezer-looking utensils (she called "chopsticks"). She displays them below!

She also brought some goodies (goldfish crackers, tiny marshmellows, and gummy bears). The task was to use the "chopsticks" to pick up the goodies in your bowl. If you picked it up and got it to your mouth, you could eat it! Yum!

Below, Ms. LaVerne shows the students what to do!

The look on Joyria, Enoch, and DeAsia's faces say it all- "She wants us to do WHAT?". Ha! Ha!

Claire's examines her "chopsticks". I'm sure she's thinking- "She wants us to that with THESE?"!

Claire did get the hang of it after a couple of tries!

Grace worked so hard to pick up her goldfish crackers with her "chopsticks"!

Ms. LaVerne helps Joyria use her chopsticks!

DeAsia also recieves help from Ms. LaVerne!

Yay!! La'Shawn got the hang of using his "chopsticks"! Way to Go!

Thanks Ms. LaVerne for making learning fun!!

Ms. Malcom, i don't think words can express how terrific your class blog is. I'm so glad you sent me an update. Your class, adults and students, are like flowers that blossom all year. I want to share it with everyone I know. too bad it can't be displayed on computers at school. I wish you could be the special olympic blog person and the whole county could share this joyous creation.
