Bird Trees!

A few weeks ago we had a very special visitor. Mr. John, Mrs. Stowe's husband, offered to come and do a special project with our class. Mr. John explained that when he was little, his grandmother would always make bird trees with him at Christmas time. Mr. John wanted to share this tradition with us! He was so nice and spent lots of time preparing for this project!
Tony and Jameer (below) were so excited to begin making their bird tree!

First, we had to paint the base! Ms. Malcom's group chose to paint their base green!

Mrs. Belcher's group decided to paint their base brown!

Mr. John brought some beautiful birds and dragonflies that we could decorate our trees with! Joyria loved the birds!

Santoes thought that this project was so funny! He really enjoyed it!

To celebrate the holidays, we also put ornaments on our tree!

After we made our bird trees, Mr. John read us a story about Christmas!

The group enjoying Mr. John's story!

Mr. John also decided to stick around to enjoy a game of sight word BINGO with us! We love BINGO!

We also had another very special visitor. Mrs. Sterling, La'Shawn's mother, stopped by to visit and enjoy a game of BINGO with us as well! It was great having her!

Ms. Malcom and Mrs. Stowe pose for a picture!

Mr. John enjoyed helping the boys with BINGO! They enjoyed his help as well!

Thank you Mr. John for preparing and sharing such a fun activity with us! We really enjoyed it! Also, thank you Mrs. Sterling for coming by to spend some time with us! We are so lucky to have such a great support system!
