Habitats of Georgia!

For the past few weeks, in Science, we have been learning about the Habitats of Georgia. We began by learning where we live (Georgia) and the definition of a habitat. Then, we learned about each of the habitats in Georgia: the Mountains, Piedmont, Coastal Plain, Okefenokee Swamp, and Atlantic Ocean! As we learned about each habitat, we created a representation of it on a huge model of Georgia. We had a great time and learned so much!
Below are a few pictures of the students creating the Mountains! When we learned about the mountains of Georgia, we learned where they were located as well as what kinds of plants/ animals live there!

Below are a few pictures of our students creating the Piedmont. We learned that the Piedmont is where Covington is located. There are lots of pine trees there. There are also several more plants/ animals that live there!

Below are a few pictures of our students creating their representation of the Coastal Plains. We learned that the Coastal Plains are very sandy!

Our final product (model of Georgia) was so beautiful! We even got to hang it out in the hallway for all to see!

What a wonderful way to learn about the habitats of Georgia!
