Special Olympics Track & Field Events!

On Tuesday, we participated in our Special Olympics Track & Field events at Eastside High School. When we arrived to the field, we were greeted by one of our favorite friends, Mr. Wildman (our Adaptive PE Teacher)!

DeAsia reunited with one of her favorite friends from her previous school, Mr. Will! She LOVES Mr. Will and it was like they had never been apart!

Lucy had lots of family come to cheer her on at her events! Mrs. Renae (Lucy's mother), Aunt Angie, and cousin Lacey pose with Lucy at the events!

Joyria was thrilled to her her metal! She and DeAsia competed against Kayla (one of Ms. Malcom's former students)!

Ms. Kelli poses with Enoch. She was his partner all day and cheered him on during his events!

After we completed our events, there were several things for us to do! There was a station to get drinks, a station to get tattoos, and a station to pet several animals!

La'Shawn mother (Mrs. Sterling) and neighbor were able to join us at the events and cheer La'Shawn on! La'Shawn's helper (Ms. Tonya) was also wonderful with him!

DeAsia's father (Mr. Williams) also came by! He joined us at our picnic, following the events!

You can tell by the smile on Lucy's face that the Special Olympics Track & Field events were a success!

We had a GREAT time at the Special Olympics Track & Field events. I want to say THANK YOU to all of the parents, family, and friends who came out to support our students! It was great to see all of you there! I also want to say THANK YOU to all who made the events possible!
