Teacher's Helper!

Lucy is such a great Teacher's Helper! On this day, Lucy helped Ms. Malcom grade papers by drawing a "happy face" on those papers that Ms. Malcom put a check on! Way to Go Lucy!

Santoes~ Oh No!

Santoes has truly come "out of his shell" this year. He is talking like crazy and always surprises us with new words, etc.
In this video, Santoes is saying his new phrase "Oh No!". He is usually a little more dramatic with it, moving his arms as if he is distraught (Ha! Ha!). We call him our little drama-king. However, he must be a little camera shy!
Santoes has to be the happiest, funniest kid that I have ever met! We just adore him and look forward to seeing him every day!

Updated Class Picture!

For the last couple of weeks, we having been meaning to get an updated class picture! Today, everyone was present and we just happened to remember. So, we did it!

We couldn't resist a silly picture!

I am truly blessed for such a wonderful class and wonderful co-workers! There are challenges, but looking at this picture, of all of us together, makes it all worth it!
I love all of you!
Ms. Malcom

Top Toucan Jonathan!

I am proud to announce that this week's Top Toucan is..........
Jonathan!

Jonathan has displayed great behavior and hard work in class! Last week, Jonathan wrote his name independently for the first time! He has worked so hard on this and we are sooooo proud of him!

Way to Go Jonathan!!!

Our New Class Pets!

We have new class pets! Can you tell who loves them the most?? :-)

Special Olympics Basketball!

Last week, we headed to Turner Lake for a fun-filled day of Basketball! We had a great time!

Santoes worked hard learning how to dribble the basketball! We had some wonderful volunteers from Alcovy High School come to help our students! They were great!

Aaron had a blast dribbling the basketball!

La'Shawn did a great job shooting the basketball!

Tyler tossed the ball way up in the air! He loved it!

Eliana was to funny! She would dribble and laugh, dribble and laugh!

Tanayry was our class ALL-STAR! She was such a great basketball player!

Joyria was awesome! She can seriously dribble a basketball!

DeAsia's look says it all! She would rather cheer than play basketball! Ha! Ha!

DeAsia chatted with Mrs. Dew about the events of the day!

We were so proud of all of our athletes!! They did great and worked so hard! Way to Go!

Hike and "Feeding" the Ducks!

After a day of Special Olympics Basketball, the girls were worn out! Ha! Ha! They decided to take a break in the rocking chairs at Turner Lake!

We all met in the conference room where we were given snacks and drinks! Ms. Malcom and Enoch took this opportunity to work on a little sign language!

Cheers!

Then, we went outside for a beautiful picnic lunch!

Ms. Malcom found a "grandaddy long legs" spider. Joyria, Enoch, and Lucy were quite interested in it!

After our picnic lunch, we headed to the lake with our leftovers, to feed the ducks!

We even ran into DeAsia's grandmother! She is so sweet!

The ducks were interested in our leftovers when we first arrived at the lake. It didn't take us long, however, to scare them off! Ha! Ha!

We tried our best to convince the ducks to stick around! :-)

Fun at Turner Lake!

So..... after "feeding" the ducks (actually scaring them off), we made our way to the playground at Turner Lake! This playground was much bigger than our playground at school! We were all so excited to play!

Eliana and Tanayry went straight for the jungle gym!

Santoes went straight for the slide!

Tyler and Mrs. Holland are the best of friends!

DeAsia loved climbing to the very top of the playground equipment!

Monkey Lucy!

I love this picture of Mrs. Higdon and Enoch!

Tyler climbing on the jungle gym!

Mrs. Higdon and DeAsia chatting on the bus ride back to school!

Joyria and Mrs. Stowe!

Mrs. Higdon and Ms. Malcom were trying to teach Enoch how to do a fishy face!

Ha! Ha! Mrs. Higdon and La'Shawn on the way back to the classroom after our trip to Turner Lake!

We had so much fun at Turner Lake! We can't wait to go back!

Cute Pics from the Past Week!

Below are a few pictures that I had to share from the past week! I think they are too cute!

We tried to get Joyria to show us a "peace" sign to match her shirt, but this is all we could get! She is too cute!

La'Shawn has a new hairdo!

And we LOVE it!

Ha! Ha! Tyler's shirt says it all! I love it!

Jonathan and Tyler are great friends! How sweet!

Santoes worked so hard today. By music time, he couldn't stay awake! :-)

Winter vs. Summer!

Today we read a story called "Shoes From Grandpa". We also talked about the differences between the seasons, Summer and Winter, as well as the types of clothing that we would wear during each season!

Eliana was our volunteer to dress for a cold Winter! She had to choose, from the various types of clothing on the floor, the clothes that she would wear during the Winter!

Eliana loved the boots! They were the first items that she chose!

Getting all dressed up for Winter!

Too cute!

Tanayry was our volunteer to dress for a hot Summer!

The first item that she chose was the shorts!

She quickly found the flip flops and sunglasses!

Tanayry looks beach ready!

Thanks to Eliana and Tanayry for helping us learn about the clothes that we would wear during the Summer and Winter!

You both did a great job!
