9/11 Ceremony!

On September 11th our school had a beautiful ceremony to remember those whose lives were lost or changed on September 11th, 2001. On this day in history, America was forever changed by the attack on the World Trade Centers and Pentagon.

Two of our boys (Draylan and Tony) were an integral part of the ceremony. They were members of the flag team and assisted the ROTC, from Newton High School, with raising the flag!

The morning couldn't have been any more beautiful!

At the ceremony, we honored many service men. These people included policemen, firemen, and members of our military!

Mrs. Courter's Kindergarten class performed the Pledge of Allegiance in sign language!

The flag was put up and lowered to half staff!

Tony and Draylan did a wonderful job. They had to perform in front of the entire school. They were respectful and took their duty very seriously. Way to go boys!

God Bless America, land that we love!
Thank you to all of our service men and women who protect us each and every day. A special THANK YOU to Eliana's Uncle, Boom-Boom (policeman), Erica's mother, Mrs. Coard (military), and Erica's father, Mr. Coard (fireman). We appreciate your hard work and service!

Sense of Humor!

Check out Draylan's shirt. Ha! Ha! What a sense of humor!

FUN in the First Few Weeks!

We had a wonderful first few weeks of school. Mrs. Stowe and Ms. Malcom are so excited about our class this year. We were able to keep five of our previous students (Santoes, Eliana, Tony, Draylan, and Tanayry). We gained three new students (Lynec, Erica, and Dontavious)!

We celebrated Eliana's birthday! Happy Birthday Eliana!

We had lots of fun on the playground with our new friends! Lynec (on right) and Erica (on left) are two of our new wonderful students!

Draylan is still quite the acrobat!

Lynec has such a beautiful smile!

Tanayry was happy to be back at school!

Go Santoes Go!

Eliana still loves climbing the monkey bars!

Draylan and Tony are still the best of friends!

Erica loves the slide!

Hi Santoes!

Draylan showed off his football skills. This boy can throw and catch the ball. We were impressed!

Draylan schooled Santoes on football!

Our sweet class, minus Dontavious, Ms. Malcom, and Mrs. Stowe. Love them already!

Congratulations Enoch!

On the last day of school, Enoch graduated from 5th grade. Enoch has been in Ms. Malcom's class for four years. Mrs. Stowe and Ms. Malcom are so proud of the young man he has become. We wish you all the best in middle school Enoch! We love you!

The torch was lit by graduating seniors!

Mr. and Mrs. Mangum (Tony's parents) even got to stop by!

Such cool dudes!

Special Olympics Parade!

We were so excited to get to our Special Olympics Parade!

We got to ride on the back of a truck and show our South Salem spirit!

Students from the Theme School and First Baptist Church made signs and cheered for the athletes as they rode by. It was a very nice gesture!

It was a hot day. However, we had lots of fun together!

We saw lots of friends along the way. We saw Tony's parents, Ms. Kelli, Baby Blair, Baby Judd, Ms. Malcom's grandmother, Ms. Malcom's father, and lots of our old friends!

It was a great day!
