Baby Blair's First Day of School!

Baby Blair made her first visit to our class today! We were all so excited to see our "Room Cousin" (Ha! Ha! Ms. Kelli is our "Room Mom")!

Baby Blair even got to help Mrs. Higdon fill out the agendas!

Joyria LOVED Baby Blair! She even got to hold her (with assistance from Ms. Malcom). She was so gentle with her!

Joyria even wanted to give Baby Blair a kiss. So, of course, she gave her one!

DeAsia was very interested in Baby Blair. She kept pointing to her and saying "It's a baby". She didn't want to get to close but she did touch her!

Enoch adored Baby Blair! He followed Ms. Malcom around and loved touching her cheeks!

La'Shawn also wanted to see Baby Blair! He kept saying "Baby"! Then he would giggle!

Thank you Ms. Kelli for bringing Baby Blair by so that we could meet her! We love our "Room Cousin" sooooooo much!

The first week of school was a GREAT one! We were so happy to be back together and actually learned a lot!

Enoch has really stepped it up this year! He led the class in the colors during Calendar Time and has even gone on some errands with Lucy to the office! Way to go Enoch!

DeAsia and Eliana love playing on the computer! They were so good last week and earned time to do just that!

Aaron still loves his computer! He chooses it EVERY day at Free Time!

Mrs. Higdon and Tanayry worked on a number puzzle! Tanayry did a fabulous job putting it together and counting!

As you can see, it has been a GREAT 1st week! We look forward to spending time with our friends and school and learning a lot! I have a GREAT class!

Ms. Malcom is now an AUNTIE!

Ms. Malcom's sister, Kelli, who was also our wonderful room mother last year, finally gave birth to her baby girl. Blair Rose was born on July 29th at 6:22PM. She was 6 lbs, 11 oz and was 20 inches tall. Both Ms. Kelli and baby Blair are doing well!

Of course, Ms. Malcom is a VERY proud Auntie!
Congratulations to Ms. Kelli and Mr. Russell! We are very happy to have a new addition to our class family!

I always love the first class picture! It shows all of the different personalities just perfectly! This picture is priceless!

Yes! Your Teachers are Rock Stars!

Thanks to the musical creativity of Mrs. Stowe, all of us teachers got together after Open House and made a "Music Video" to play for our students to welcome them back to school on the first day! When they watched it, understandably, they smiled, giggled, and laughed. DeAsia wanted to watch it over and over! We told her that we were better than the Cheetah Girls!

The First Day of School!

So... today was the first day of school! I must say that it went GREAT!! The kids were so excited to be back and were all smiles! We were just as excited to see them!

Eliana is one of our new students. She was actually at South Salem Elementary last year but was not in our class. Eliana is Enoch's sister! Welcome Eliana!

Tanayry is another one of our new students! Tanayry came from another elementary school in the county! We are so happy to have her! Welcome to our class Tanayry!

Aaron was extremely happy to be back at school! He smiled ALL DAY!

Alex is another one of our new students. Alex went to South Salem Elementary last year but is new to our class! Welcome Alex! We look forward to a wonderful year with you!

Getting Ready for a New Year!

For the last two weeks, I have been working really hard (with the help of my creative mother) on getting our room ready for next year! This year's theme is "Jungle". I am so excited!

One Final UNO Game!

One thing that we learned this year was how to play UNO! UNO is great because it works on both color recognition and number recognition. Our students have gotten so good at playing and we usually sit down to play a game every Friday. So, on the last day of school we had to play one last game of UNO!

Santoes was very excited and gave a HUGE smile for the camera! He's so cute with his tooth missing!

We waited to play UNO during our usual nap time! Therefore, Aaron wasn't to into playing the game! Ha! Ha!

I'm going to miss Enoch over the Summer! He is definitely a teacher's pet! They all are! :-)

Well, Aaron didn't make it! We looked over and he was sleeping on his UNO cards! Too cute!

Of course DeAsia asked for multiple "sugars" during the game. This UNO game took longer than expected because she had to give Mrs. Stowe, Mrs. Higdon, and Ms. Malcom "sugars" before we could proceed with the game! Ha! Ha!

It's amazing to think back to our first UNO game together! It was a disaster! This is just one example of how far our students have come this year! We are soooo proud of all of them!

Ice Cream Sundae Party!

On Friday, we joined Ms. Culpepper and Mrs. Ford's class for an End of the Year ice cream sundae party!

There were so many toppings to choose from!

I think Joyria is going to miss Enoch over the Summer!

DeAsia, Lucy, and La'Shawn had a great time at the party! They really enjoyed their ice cream sundaes!

It was a GREAT way to end the 2008-2009 school year! We were so glad to get to spend this time with our friends from Ms. Culpepper and Mrs. Ford's class! Thanks for inviting us!
