Cute Pics from the Past Week!

Below are a few pictures that I had to share from the past week! I think they are too cute!

We tried to get Joyria to show us a "peace" sign to match her shirt, but this is all we could get! She is too cute!

La'Shawn has a new hairdo!

And we LOVE it!

Ha! Ha! Tyler's shirt says it all! I love it!

Jonathan and Tyler are great friends! How sweet!

Santoes worked so hard today. By music time, he couldn't stay awake! :-)

Winter vs. Summer!

Today we read a story called "Shoes From Grandpa". We also talked about the differences between the seasons, Summer and Winter, as well as the types of clothing that we would wear during each season!

Eliana was our volunteer to dress for a cold Winter! She had to choose, from the various types of clothing on the floor, the clothes that she would wear during the Winter!

Eliana loved the boots! They were the first items that she chose!

Getting all dressed up for Winter!

Too cute!

Tanayry was our volunteer to dress for a hot Summer!

The first item that she chose was the shorts!

She quickly found the flip flops and sunglasses!

Tanayry looks beach ready!

Thanks to Eliana and Tanayry for helping us learn about the clothes that we would wear during the Summer and Winter!

You both did a great job!

A Little Bocce Ball!

In Adaptive PE we have been learning how to play bocce ball. We really enjoy it! Today, our students earned a little free time. So, we went outside to play a game of bocce ball!
Wow! What a crew! :-)

Our friends Hunter and Laney, from Mrs. Frix's 3rd grade class, even got to come out and play with us!

Playing bocce ball!

La'Shawn throwing the ball! He and Lucy were on the red team!

DeAsia was on the blue team with Hunter and Laney!

Lucy plays bocce ball very well!

Tanayry was on the yellow team with Enoch!

Great action shot Santoes!

Ms. Malcom and her wallflowers! Ha! Ha! We enjoyed ourselves too!

And the winner is.... the BLUE team!

Money Cheer!

Identifying coined money has been a struggle in our classroom! So... Mrs. Stowe came up with a cheer that would hopefully help our students learn how to identify the penny, nickel, dime, and quarter! I thought that this video was so cute! Turn of the playlist (to the right of the blog posts)and enjoy!

Following Directions!

On Tuesday, we made spider webs. However, not only did we make spider webs, we had to follow directions to make them! Ms. Malcom thought that it would be a good idea to put a large version of the directions on the ActivBoard. As a class we went through each direction, read them, completed them, and checked them off when we were finished. We learned a lot about following directions and created some beautiful spider webs!

First, we had to use glue to create the web. We had to make circles with the glue!

Then, we had to make straight lines with the glue!

We put glitter on the glue to make it extra pretty!

The last steps were to put a spider on our web and attach a pipe cleaner so that it could be hung at home!

Our spider webs were very beautiful!

Our students did a great job with this activity and seemed to enjoy it!

From Pumpkin to Jack-o-Lantern!

Since we have been learning about tally charts and graphing, on Monday we decided to create a tally chart about what face we wanted carved into our pumpkin!

.....and the winning face was........

....Surprise face!
After creating our tally chart, allowing everyone to choose which face they would like, and declaring a winner, we set out to carve our pumpkin!

Mrs. Higdon carved our pumpkin for us!

Once the top of the pumpkin was removed, Mrs. Higdon showed us what was inside the pumpkin!

Mrs. Holland demonstrated how fun it was to clean out the pumpkin!

Lucy, Santoes, and DeAsia were willing to help clean out the pumpkin!

Then, it was time to turn our pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern! Since the "surprised" face recieved the most tally marks, Mrs. Higdon carved a "surprised" face jack-o-lantern!

After the pumpkin was carved, Mrs. Stowe showed everyone what the jack-o-lantern looked like with a light inside! Everyone was quite intrigued! Ha! Ha!

Our class picture with our jack-o-lantern! Ha! ha! Some of them having matching "surprised" faces!

Our picture with our completed tally chart!

This was a great, fun way to learn about tally charts! We also LOVE our jack-o-lantern!

Art Class!

We were so excited on the Thursday before the Fall Break to be invited by Mrs. Christopher, the Art teacher, to make beautiful creations in the art room. Mrs. Christopher was so wonderful with our kids and explained to them exactly what they would be doing!

We couldn't wait to get started! First, we had to flatten the clay!

Then, we had to roll the clay!

Mrs. Christopher gave us leaves that we were to push down on the clay! When we picked up the leaves, a leaf-imprint was left on the clay!

When we return to school, Mrs. Christopher is going to "cook" our creations in a big "oven"!

Then, we will go back in and paint them! We can't wait to see what the final projects look like!

Thank you Mrs. Christopher for giving us this opportunity!
