It was a SAD Day!

Yesterday (and today) was a very SAD day! I am sorry to say that our beloved class pet, Miss Piggy, passed away yesterday! Miss Piggy has been our class pet for the past three years. She was loved by many, inside and outside of our classroom. She loved our students just as much as they loved her! We will miss Miss Piggy so much, but we know that she is in the place where good guinea pigs go!

Today was very difficult as well because we always included Miss Piggy in parts of our classroom routine, such as calling her name during roll and greeting her in the mornings. After I explained to the students that Miss Piggy would no longer be with us, I asked if anyone had anything to say about Miss Piggy. Lucy immediately raised her hand and said "I love Miss Piggy". I explained that we all loved Miss Piggy and thanked Lucy for sharing. Joyria then raised her hand. I asked her if she had anything to say about Miss Piggy. Joyria pointed to her cage and said "Piggy". Joyria was Miss Piggy's special friend. As soon as she entered the classroom every morning, Joyria went straight to where Miss Piggy was laying on the floor and petted her. Lastly, La'Shawn raised his hand. I asked La'Shawn if he had anything to say about Miss Piggy and he simply said "Love". That was all he had to say! EVERYONE loved Miss Piggy!
