Wow!! What a Great Year!!! Those are the words that come to my mind when I think about the 2006-2007 school year!! It is hard to believe that my first year of teaching went by so quickly.. It was definately one of the best years of my life.. I must admit that I was very nervous on the first day of school, nervous that the kids wouldn't like me or that I would not know what to do!! However, I left school on that first day knowing that I had found my calling in life!! That was such a wonderful feeling!! With a new sense of joy and confidence I made a promise to myself that I would give these children my all!! By the end of the school year I wanted them to be proud of themselves and know that they can accomplish their goals.. This was the purpose of our field trip to Stone Mountain (pictures below). Our class goal was to climb Stone Mountain!! We did it and, as a class, achieved our goal!! The kids were so proud of themselves and each other.. I also wanted each child to leave my classroom knowing, without a doubt, that I cared about them.. I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about my students. All of them are so special to me and have had an enormous impact on my life!!
The picture below is of our kite day that we had at the beginning of Spring!! We had a wonderful time as you can see!
The picture below is from one of our favorite field trips!! We studied Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and then visit the King Center and Memorial.. The kids learned a lot from this lesson and field trip!! We ate at the Varsity afterwards!! Yum!!
Congratulations to Avia, Kyla, and Tamya, our 5th grade graduates!! Good luck in Middle School! We will greatly miss you!!
The purpose of this blog is to keep all of you updated on our classroom accomplishments and events during the upcoming year!!! I will send an e-mail each time I update the blog!! I hope all of you enjoy!!

Ms. Malcom, I am so proud of you and what you are doing with this class. You did a superb job last year. I enjoyed the trips our classes shared together as well as a lot of the everyday activities. I wish you much success in your 2007-08 school year. Hey, I may have to do a site for my babies too...

Hi Ms. Malcom,
I really like your page. It really makes me happy and pleased to hear how the kids have changed your life. You're a very good teacher and if I had to choose, I would always want you to be Lexi's teacher.
Thanks for caring and working so hard with my baby girl.
Tamika H.
