Friends, Birthdays, and Teacher in Training!

I wanted to share a few of the pictures below. We are all such great friends!

Last week we celebrated Mrs. Higdon's birthday. Mrs. Stowe played "Happy Birthday" on the accordian as we all sung along!

We opened presents and had birthday cake!

Happy Birthday Mrs. Higdon!

On Monday, Lucy wanted to try out her teaching talent at Calendar Time. I must say that she did a great job! I think I may be replaced in a few years! :-)

Fun Fantastic Friday- Taste Test

For Mrs. Stowe's Fun Fantastic Friday activity, we learned about one of our five senses, Taste! Jameer was the Class STARfish this week so he got to be the teacher's helper during the activity!

Mrs. Stowe and Jameer read a story to us about tasting. We also learned how to use our words to describe how different foods taste!

Then, it was time to do some tasting! Mrs. Stowe (and Jameer) blindfolded one person at a time. The blindfolded person was then give a small piece of food. After tasting the food, they had to describe how it tasted and guess what it was!

... and we have a cheater! :-)

We had a great time and learned a lot about taste! Thanks Mrs. Stowe!

Fun Fantastic Friday- Snow Globes!

Last week, we began learning about weather and the four seasons. In our vocabulary books, we added words such as "winter", "snow", "snowball", "snowman", etc. Mrs. Higdon was in charge of Fun Fantastic Friday and had the great idea to make snow globes out of round coke bottles! Tony was the "Class STARfish" last week. Therefore, he was the teacher's helper for Fun Fantastic Friday!

Tony took his teacher's helper job very seriously!

Mrs. Higdon had cute little snowmen to put in our snow globes!

She also had little "snowballs" for us to put in our snow globes!

La'Shawn, Mrs. Stowe, and Jameer had a great time working on their snow globes!

We poured oil in the bottles!

After taking time to help pass out supplies, Tony was eager to begin working on his snow globe!

Lucy and Eliana were very busy putting their snowballs in their snow globes!

Then, we added lots of pretty glitter!

Jameer and Tony show off their snow globes!

The last thing we had to do was fill the rest of the bottle with water!

Ms. Malcom made a snow globe too!

Tony loved his snow globe!

I had to add this picture! These boys are such great friends!

Thanks Mrs. Higdon for such a wonderful and fun activity! We LOVE Fun Fantastic Friday!

Snow Days!

On the day we returned from school after our snow days, we had to go take some pictures in the snow. I actually took a total of 7 pictures, trying to find that perfect one! Ha! Ha! I wanted to share some of them with you! I'll tell you, these children just make my day!
Below is the first picture that I took! Pretty good, but of course not everyone was looking at the camera!

This is another one that I took! Ha! Ha! This one speaks for itself!

This is the last one we took! Still, not everyone is looking at the camera! But... I just loved it! This one is the background for our ActivBoard!

I just love these children! :-)

CBI Trip to McDonalds!

On the same day that we went to Dollar Tree to do some holiday shopping, we went to McDonalds for lunch and a little fun time together. Mrs. Thomas sent me pictures from this trip (since I left my camera at Dollar Tree)! I wanted to share them with you!
The kids loved playing in the McDonalds Playground!

We enjoyed lunch and the nice people at McDonalds gave our class free ice cream!

We were so happy to have one of our favorite bus drivers, Mrs. Judy, spend the day with us! It was also great to have Mrs. Sterling and Mrs. Thomas come along!

After lunch, it was back to more playing!

Ms. Malcom thinks she's getting a little old (or big) for this! :-)

As you can see, we had a great time! We can't wait for our next CBI trip!
