Nature Trail Fun!

Before leaving Lake Varner, we went on a Nature Trail.

The end of Nature Trail led to the lake! Of course we had to stop and take a class picture!

CBI Trip to Lake Varner!

Last Wednesday, we took our final CBI trip of the year. We went to Lake Varner (the Newton County Reservior) for a picnic and fun day together.

We got there at snack time so, of course, we had to stop for snack.

Then, it was time to play our little hearts out!

Before lunch, we walked down to the lake to feed the ducks!

Then, it was lunch time!

After lunch, we played some more!

I couldn't think of a better way to spend our last CBI trip. We had so much fun and it was a beautiful day!

Earth Day!

Last Friday we celebrated Earth Day. We learned about Earth Day and why it is an important holiday. We learned about ways to protect our Earth. Then, we got ready to do our part!

One... Two... Three... EARTH DAY!

We learned that one way to protect our Earth is to clean up trash. So.. we went outside and cleaned our school grounds.

Of course we had a little fun on the way!

We picked up so much trash on our school grounds. We were appalled at how much trash was in such a little area.

Angry Birds!

Like lots of little boys, Draylan and Tony are into Angry Birds. Tony wore an Angry Birds shirt earlier in the week and Draylan was quite impressed that he and his best friend shared the same interest. He told me that he wanted Tony to wear his Angry Birds shirt on the same day that he wore his. I told him that he needed to write Tony's mom a letter asking her if Tony could wear his Angry Birds shirt on Friday and that Draylan should wear his on Friday too. He worked so hard on writing the letter to Tony's mom. When they walked in this morning, look what they both had on! So sweet and they were so proud! Thank you Mrs. Mangum (Tony's mom) for making Draylan's day! :-)

Old & New Friends Get Together!

What a wonderful night! Earlier in March, Mrs. Stowe and I planned a fun-filled get together. We called it our "Old & New Friends Get Together". It was a chance for us to get together with many of our previous students from the past 6 years. Our first class together, my first year teaching, was in 2006. The students that we had that year are now freshman in high school. Crazy, I know! We all met at Stevi B's Pizza. This night was a time for the families our students to meet each other and fellowship. It was so wonderful seeing everyone and catching up with those that we have not seen in a while. I think a great time was had by all!

Tony is in my class now. He brought his mom, dad, and brother. Jameer, one of my students last year, brought his whole family. Jameer and Tony were such great friends last year. It's great to see their friendship continue!

Lexi was one of my first students as well. She brought her mom and dad!
La'Shawn and Lucy have been great friends from the start. Lucy is one we watched (and helped) grow. I had her from Kindergarten to 3rd grade. La'Shawn and Lucy both left me this year and now attend another school. Thank goodness they are still in the same class and are obviously still best friends!

After eating lots of wonderful pizza, we played games! Tony loved skeeball!

La'Shawn played skeeball with his sweet sister, Laliyah. La'Shawn brought his entire family as well. So great to see all of them!

Hey Eric! Eric is taller than me. He has such a sweet soul though. Love this kid!

Tradarius is one that will always have my heart. We had such a fun time when he was in my class! He was that one that would do anything for you. He is so grown and is now 16 years old! Oh my!

All of these people mean so much to me. They have all had an impact on my road as a teacher. Thank you all for that! It was so wonderful seeing everyone and I look forward to another "Old & New Friends Get Together" very soon. In 20 years, we are going to have to find a bigger place to meet. Ha! Ha! Our "Malcom/ Stowe Family" is growing! Love you all!
