Our Indoor Camp out!

I cannot tell you how much fun we had at our End-of-the-Summer Indoor Camp out. However, you will see how much fun we had in the pictures below!

All of the students were encouraged to bring their flashlights and favorite stuffed animal!

We never wanted to get out of the tent. Our campfire made it complete!
Ms. Malcom shared a scary story with her friends in the tent. She also taught everyone how to make animals by shining the light on the side of the tent and using her fingers!
Of course we had to have a group picture!
A picture of the entire group!
Then, everyone else took a turn making a scary face and voice. This was a lot of fun!
There were lots of smiles!
After enjoying a little time in the tent, we sat around our campfire!
We also sang campfire songs!
Thanks Mrs. Stowe for the music!
D'Andre especially loved the tent. We couldn't get him out of it! :-)

Catching Fireflies!

In our tent, in the dark, we read a story called When the Fireflies Come. Mrs. Stowe hid all of the fireflies around the room Friday morning. After reading the story, we got our flashlights and went on a firefly hunt. When we found one, we put them in a jar!

We had lots of fun!

We caught lots of fireflies!

Smores!

What is a camp out without smores? Of course, we made smores!

We had a recipe that we followed and they all did so great! Some students liked them. Some didn't. However, we all had fun making them!

Ms. Hawkins is another one of our new friends this year. We enjoy spending time with her each day!
Time to take them to the microwave!
Yum! Yum!

Setting up our Campsite!

We couldn't wait to get our campsite set up. As soon as we came in Friday morning, it was time to get the tent put up and the camp fire lit! :-)

The boys were a great help!

Almost there!
They acted like they had done this a million times before!
We did it!

Preparing for Camp!

We had a lot to do for our indoor camp out. So... on Thursday, after reading a story about camping, we got to work making our indoor campfire and fireflies. Everyone worked together and got the job done!

Our finished fireflies. We couldn't wait to "catch" them the next day!

Our finished camp fire. Doesn't it look cool?

Sentences!

We have been working so hard to learn our high-frequency words and vocabulary words. Last week, we created sentences using our words. Then, we got together with a partner and practiced reading our sentences! All of our students did so good!

Ms. Phipps is one of our new friends this year. We appreciate her so much!

Keep up the good work guys!
