A Little Holiday Shopping!

The Thursday before the holiday break, we went on a trip to Dollar Tree and McDonalds. At Dollar Tree, we shopped for holiday presents to give our family and friends. Below are a few pictures from our trip. Unfortunately, I left my camera at Dollar Tree and didn't get it back until that afternoon. Therefore, we don't have any pictures of our fun lunch at McDonalds! :-(
Mrs. Thomas, one of our wonderful substitutes and friend, took time out of her day to go on our trip. We were so happy to have her join us. At Dollar Tree she helped Lucy and Joyria pick out presents for their family and friends!

Mrs. Sterling (La'Shawn's mother) also joined us! She helped La'Shawn shop for his family, friends, and teachers! It was great to spend the day with Mrs. Sterling as well!

Mrs. Stowe helped DeAsia and Tony shop!

Ms. Malcom helped Enoch and Eliana shop!

Tony had a blast and loved picking out presents for his little brother, mother, and father!

Mrs. Higdon helped Santoes and Jameer shop!

We had a blast and appreciated having Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Sterling join us! We hope that everyone loved their gifts that were picked out for them.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

A Future Photographer!

Last Friday, Tony asked me if he could take some pictures with my camera. Feeling very brave and thinking that I should probably let the child explore his future employment options (LOL!), I agreed! So.. I turned the camera on and let him roam the room to take pictures! When I checked my camera, after school, I could only smile! Below are some of Tony's pictures! Enjoy!
Rule #1 for all future photographers- Perfect the self-portrait!

He got Santoes to say "Cheese"!

Joyria was obviously very willing to be one of his subjects!

I don't think Mrs. Higdon was aware of what was going on!

Rule #2 for future photographers- Perfect the close up!

LOL! I heard him saying "Iguana- Ii", "Elephant- Ee", "Apple- Aa"!

More willing subjects!

He got La'Shawn to say "Cheese"!

Nice posing Jameer!

Rule #3 for future photographers- Must have humor!

Lucy offering suggestions for photos!

Hmmm.. He must have found this important!

Alright... I see a future photographer in the making. Mr. and Mrs. Mangum, please whisper in Santa's ear that Tony wants a camera!

Preparing for the Holidays!

For the past few weeks we have been preparing ourselves for the holiday season!
We made pine cone Christmas trees! That was fun!

We had another fun Speech lesson. We read the story, There was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Bell. That was a fun story! Of course we had to act it out!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS from Ms. Malcom's class! Ha! Ha!

Then, we made yummy Christmas trees!

Mr. John had so much fun on his last visit that he decided to come back!

We made more beautiful Christmas trees for Fun Fantastic Friday!

We had to stop for hugs!

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Bird Trees!

A few weeks ago we had a very special visitor. Mr. John, Mrs. Stowe's husband, offered to come and do a special project with our class. Mr. John explained that when he was little, his grandmother would always make bird trees with him at Christmas time. Mr. John wanted to share this tradition with us! He was so nice and spent lots of time preparing for this project!
Tony and Jameer (below) were so excited to begin making their bird tree!

First, we had to paint the base! Ms. Malcom's group chose to paint their base green!

Mrs. Belcher's group decided to paint their base brown!

Mr. John brought some beautiful birds and dragonflies that we could decorate our trees with! Joyria loved the birds!

Santoes thought that this project was so funny! He really enjoyed it!

To celebrate the holidays, we also put ornaments on our tree!

After we made our bird trees, Mr. John read us a story about Christmas!

The group enjoying Mr. John's story!

Mr. John also decided to stick around to enjoy a game of sight word BINGO with us! We love BINGO!

We also had another very special visitor. Mrs. Sterling, La'Shawn's mother, stopped by to visit and enjoy a game of BINGO with us as well! It was great having her!

Ms. Malcom and Mrs. Stowe pose for a picture!

Mr. John enjoyed helping the boys with BINGO! They enjoyed his help as well!

Tony and Joyria playing BINGO!

Thank you Mr. John for preparing and sharing such a fun activity with us! We really enjoyed it! Also, thank you Mrs. Sterling for coming by to spend some time with us! We are so lucky to have such a great support system!
