Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
On Friday, after lunch, Ms. McCartney's 5th grade class joined our class to learn and sing Ms. Stowe's Thanksgiving song, "I Want Some Turkey" (that she wrote). After singing with them, Ms. Stegall's class Kindergarten class and Ms. Rendle's Kindergarten class also joined us! Needless to say, we had a room FULL of children! We had a wonderful time though and enjoyed all of their company!
Turn off the volume on the playlist (on the right side of the blog) and enjoy the video!

Standing Up!

Both La'Shawn and Grace have been working very hard for the past couple of weeks on standing up by themselves (while holding on to something). They are doing a wonderful job so I decided to share some pictures with you!
Below, La'Shawn stands behind Ms. Malcom's desk!

Grace stands beside her friend, Joyria's, desk. We allowed her to pick where she wanted to stand. She chose to stand beside Joyria!

You can tell by the big smile on her face that Grace was very proud of herself! We were very proud of her as well!

Precious Times with Piggy!

We got Miss Piggy out the other day and let the students spend some time with their beloved class pet, Miss Piggy! Miss Piggy, our guinea pig, has been such a special part of our classroom this year. She has taught the students compassion, care, and unconditional love. They love her just as much!
Below, Enoch spends some time with Miss Piggy! Enoch has to be the student that I think loves Miss Piggy the most. He is so gentle with her and would sit on the floor with her all day if we would let him!

Joyria also loves Miss Piggy! She comes in everyday and says "Hello" to Miss Piggy! Usually she will point to Miss Piggy's cage and say "Kittie Cat". Well, last week FINALLY, Joyria pointed to Miss Piggy's cage and said "Piggy". Everyone stopped what they were doing and clapped! :-)

Claire's New 'do!

I had to share this very cute picture of Claire! During free time, Ms. Malcom braided Claire's hair into pig tails!! Claire loved it! She showed everyone in the class, and outside of the class, her new hairdo! Too cute!

Future Teachers Perhaps???

Order in the Class! La'Shawn stands behind Ms. Malcom's desk as he practices standing up on his own! What a big smile! He was very proud of himself once he figured out that he could do it!

Enoch assists Ms. Malcom in teaching the class how to identify and count pennies!

Claire uses the ActivBoard to teach the class how to write the number 1!

Grace teaches the class how to recognize pictures that begin with the letter of the week: Vv!

DeAsia leads the class in the "When we learn these sounds you'll see" song that we sing everyday at Calendar Time! This song helps the students identify the sounds that each letter makes. DeAsia can sing the entire song by herself as well as do the motions for each letter!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow!

I love this video and had to share it with you! Last year, Tyrisha's favorite song was "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". After Jason Castro performed it (the Hawaiian style) on American Idol, I brought his version in. After hearing it a couple of times, Tyrisha memorized it! We sang it everyday for the rest of the year! Last night, at our OLD FRIEND'S GET TOGETHER, Ms. Stowe asked her to sing a song on video. Guess which song she chose! Yep, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Enjoy!
P.S.- Push "Pause" on the playlist on the right side of the blog so that you can hear the video!

Old Friend's Get Together!

Last night was such an AMAZING night!!! All of our friends from last year met at Johnny's Pizza for an OLD FRIEND'S GET TOGETHER!!! It was so wonderful seeing everyone again!

Ms. Malcom was so happy to see Tyrisha!

Mr. John and Tradarius loved sitting beside each other!

Ms. Stowe and Tradarius ordered and ate a lot of Lemon Pepper wings, an old favorite! Yum! Yum!

Tyrisha, Ms. Charlotte, and Mr. John ordered a large pepperoni pizza! It looked so good!

Eric and Ms. Summer's (Eric's mom) also joined us! It was great to see them as well!

Mr. John and Ms. Stowe were so sweet! They went and picked up an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. It said "Old Friends Get Together with Kim". Thanks so much Mr. John and Ms. Stowe!

Ms. Stowe cut the cake! It was so good!

I Like the Letter Hh, Hh Starts so Many Words!

One of the homework assignments for the week that we studied the Letter Hh was to bring in something that began with the Letter Hh.
Enoch and Claire brought in their HATS!!! Way to go Enoch and Claire!!!

Eliana (Enoch's sister) poses with her teachers, Ms. Rendle and Ms. Camp. She made a HAT for the Letter Hh!

Singing with our Friends in Ms. Stegall's Class!

Below, are a few pictures of when we went in to sing with Ms. Stegall's class on Halloween day! We had a blast!! Thank so much Ms. Stowe for leading us with the guitar!

A group shot!! The students in Ms. Stegall's class are such great friends!

Claire and Shelby are the best of friends. They always sit together and sing together!

Every Friday, when time allows, we go to Ms. Stegall's Kindergarten class for Music! Ms. Stowe, being the wonderful song-writer that she is, wrote a song called "It was Halloween". Our class, along with Ms. Stegall's class, has been learning this song during the month of October. On Halloween, we all got together to sing it for the last time. I took a video of the performance!
Enjoy!

Random Pictures from the Bowling Alley!

La'Shawn and Trevor are the best of friends! Below, those pose for a picture at the bowling alley!

Fun Fall Games!

At our Fall party, we played many fun games!
The first game that we played was "Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin". Below are some pictures from this game!

DeAsia actually ended up winning!

Next, we played a game that required each student to stick their hand into cooked noodles, feel around, and find the hidden spiders! This was a lot of fun! Some pictures from this game are below!

I think you have something on your glasses Claire! :-)

Our class picture with our "Room Mom", Ms. Kelli! Thanks for putting together our party and fun games, Ms. Kelli!
